Suspensions

Managed via: the user edit page (backoffice/users/{id}), Suspensions section

Available to roles: System Administrator, Administrator — or any staff role granted the Suspend pilots (suspend) ability on users, together with access to the user edit page

Overview

A suspension is a disciplinary measure: staff take something away from a pilot for a number of days. There are two kinds.

KindWhat the pilot loses
Whole accountAll booking. The pilot cannot book schedules, custom or fly-together flights, charter contract legs, ferry legs, repositioning bounties, or vOCC onward-flight offers until the suspension ends. Bookings they already hold are left alone.
One licenseThat license only. The pilot is treated as if they had never earned it: anything it gates — fleets, subfleets, aircraft, airports, schedules, license-only documents — is closed to them, while every other aircraft stays bookable.

The pilot is notified (in-app and by email) when a suspension is applied, with the reason, and again if staff lift it early. While it is in force they see it on the booking page and on My Licenses.

Applying a suspension

In the Suspensions section of the user edit page:

  1. Choose what to suspend — Whole account, or one of the licenses the pilot currently holds actively.
  2. Enter the duration in days. The suspension starts immediately.
  3. Enter a reason. The pilot sees it.
  4. Click Suspend and confirm.

A pilot can have one account suspension and one suspension per license in force at a time. To change one, lift it and apply a new one.

How a license suspension affects expiry and renewals

The license's clock stops while it is suspended:

  • The pilot's license status shows as Suspended, and renewal evaluation skips it — it cannot expire during the suspension.
  • When the suspension ends (or is lifted), the license goes back to Active and its expiry date moves out by the time it spent suspended. A license due to expire in 10 days when suspended for 15 is still 10 days from expiry when it comes back.
  • Renewal activity requirements ("fly the A320 every 90 days") look back over a window widened by the time the license was suspended, so the pilot is not penalised for the days they were not allowed to fly it.

Suspended licenses come back automatically within a minute of the end date.

While a license is suspended it cannot be bought from the store, assigned, or have its exam released — lift the suspension instead. An exam the pilot passes during the suspension does not hand the license back early. Revoking a suspended license revokes it for good and closes the suspension.

Lifting a suspension

The suspension history table lists every suspension the pilot has had: scope, reason, who imposed it, start and end, and whether it is Active, Ended, or Lifted (with who lifted it and when). Click Lift on an active suspension to end it now.

Applying and lifting suspensions are recorded in the user's activity log, and posted to the Discord staff channel when one is configured — with the pilot, the scope, who applied or lifted it, the end date and the reason.

Through the MCP server

The suspend-pilot and lift-suspension tools do the same from Claude or any MCP client, and list-pilots shows the suspensions in force on each pilot. See MCP Server.
